Eligibility/Qualification–
Assistant Professor Grade-I:
- Ph.D. with first class or equivalent at the preceding degree in an appropriate branch.
- Very good academic record throughout.
- Minimum of 3 years’ industrial/research/teaching experience (excluding experience gained during Ph.D.).
Assistant Professor Grade-II:
- Ph.D. with first class or equivalent at the preceding degree in an appropriate branch.
- Very good academic record throughout.
Applicants must belong to SC, ST, OBC, EWS, or PD categories.
Job/Position Description-
IIT Roorkee invites outstanding candidates from SC, ST, OBC, EWS, and PD categories to apply for Assistant Professor positions across various departments, schools, and research centers as part of a special recruitment drive. Designation
- Assistant Professor Grade-I (Academic Pay Level-12)
- Assistant Professor Grade-II (Academic Pay Level-10)
- Teach and mentor undergraduate and postgraduate students.
- Conduct independent research, collaborate on interdisciplinary projects, and contribute to the academic community.
- Engage with industry and research institutions for consultancy and sponsored projects.
- Participate in administrative, academic, and outreach activities of the Institute.
Benefits
- Attractive pay structure:
- Grade-I: ₹1,01,500 – 1,67,400 (Level-12)
- Grade-II: ₹57,700 – 98,200 (Level-10; minimum starting pay ₹89,800)
- Fellowship of ₹30,000/month for 3 years.
- Joining/travel allowance: up to ₹1 lakh (from India), ₹1.5 lakh (from abroad).
- Subsidized accommodation on campus (subject to availability).
- Professional Development Allowance of ₹3 lakhs for 3 years.
- Faculty Initiation Grant up to ₹20 lakhs (plus up to ₹2 lakhs for laptop/printer).
