About- IISER Bhopal, an Institute of National importance, established by the Ministry of HRD, Govt. of India for fostering science education and research in frontier areas, invites applications for the vacant faculty positions in various departments in the specified areas only. Research/Job Area- Life Sciences / Biological Sciences or any other relevant area

Location- Indian Institute of Science Education and Research Bhopal, MP, India

Eligibility/Qualification–

Ph.D. in Life Sciences / Biological Sciences or any other relevant area from a recognized university / institution.
The candidate should have strong background in Embryology, Molecular Biology, Reproductive Biology and research experience in gene editing, screening with proven track record of publications in peer-reviewed journals. The candidates are expected to be proficient in techniques such as Primary Cell line, Embryonic Stem Cell line, RT-PCR, Western blotting, bio-informatics, Immunoassays and Lentivirus.
The candidates with experience in ES editing, blastocyst transfer technique, viral vector systems will be given preference.
Ph.D. scholars who have submitted their thesis are also eligible to apply. However, the scholar must submit the provisional/degree certificate within six months from the date of appointment. If not submitted within the time limit, the appointment will stand cancelled, or a decision will be taken in consultation with the thesis processing authority.
Candidates who have completed their Ph.D. from IISER Bhopal are not allowed to apply for these IPDF positions.
Age limit: Preference will be given to candidates below 35 years of age as on the last date of submission of application.

Job/Position Description-

Name of the Post: Institute Post-Doctoral Fellow (IPDF)

Research Area: Gene editing, CRISPR-Cas9, Mouse Model, Gamete Cryopreservation

No. of Vacancy: One

Tenure: Initially for one year with the possibility of extension for another year based on the satisfactory performance.

Fellowship: Rs. 67,000/- per month + House Rent Allowance (as per Institute rules). However, the candidates who have submitted thesis and the award of PhD Degree / provisional degree is awaited, they will be paid reduced fellowship of Rs. 35,000/- per month plus HRA. On submission of PhD degree, full fellowship ofRs. 67,000/- plus I-RA shall be restored effective from the date of award of PhD degree / provisional degree.

Leave & OPD facility: The IPDFs will be entitled for leaves and OPD medical facility as applicable to the PG students at the Institute, as laid down in the PG Manual.

Medical facility: It will be mandatory for the IPDFs to have a medical insurance policy (minimum of Rs. I lakh) in their name which should be valid throughout the period of their Fellowship. No medical reimbursement will be admissible.

Duties: Besides research work, the selected IPDF is expected to assist in teaching course(s), in accordance with the requirements of the Department.

Accommodation: No accommodation will be provided to the IPDFs.
