Research Area

The focus of this research will be on validating and applying novel PET radiotracers as biomarkers for assessing disease progression and therapeutic efficacy in mouse models of Huntington’s disease.

Location

The position will be based at the University of Antwerp, specifically at the Campus Drie Eiken.

Eligibility/Qualification

  • Master’s degree in (Bio)Medical Sciences, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Neuroscience, Biology, (Biomedical) Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Strong interest in preclinical neuroimaging and translational neuroscience research.
  • A FELASA B/C attest for animal research or willingness to obtain one.
  • Proficiency in balancing experimental work with computational and quantitative data analysis.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Strong team player with collaborative spirit.
  • Experience with animal models and/or neuroimaging techniques is a plus.
  • Excellent academic performance and research achievements are advantageous.

Job Description

  • Conduct innovative research focused on validating PET tracers as biomarkers for Huntington’s disease.
  • Contribute to reporting and disseminating research findings, including participation in (inter)national conferences and peer-reviewed publications.
  • Prepare and defend a doctoral thesis in Medical Sciences.
