About- The Indian Association for the Cultivation of Science (IACS) is a society registered under Act XXI of 1860 and the corresponding State Act viz. the West Bengal State Registration Act 1961, with its headquarters at 2A & 2B, Raja S. C. Mallick Road, Calcutta – 700 032, West Bengal, India. It has a Governing Council with a number of members elected or nominated and the Registrar as its Non-Member Secretary. The Council has the functions, duties and power as envisaged in the Memorandum and Bye-Laws and as per the provisions of the relevant Act.

Eligibility/Qualification–
Research Area: Theoretical quantum optics
Essential Qualifications: Candidates must have a Ph.D. degree in physics with research experience in quantum optics or related areas from a recognized University or Institute.
Desirable qualifications: Research experience in the areas of cold atoms, cavity quantum electrodynamics (QED) , open quantum systems and related fields are desirable.

Research Associate-I position in the School of Physical Sciences, IACS
Name of the post: Research Associate-I
Number of post: One (01)
Tenure of Fellowship: 1 year from the date of joining subject to an evaluation after 6 months as per the rules of the Institute.
Fellowship: ₹58,000/- for (RA-I) + HRA as per rules of the Association.
The post is purely temporary. No TA will be admissible for attending the interview.
