Eligibility/Qualification–
- Master’s Degree in Natural or Agricultural Sciences or Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Technology or Medicine from a recognised University or equivalent; and Eight years’ experience in Research and Development in Industrial and Academic Institutions or Science and Technology Organisations and Scientific activities and services
OR
- Doctoral Degree in Science / Engineering/ Technology /Pharma/ MD/ MS from a recognized University or equivalent; and Four years’ experience in Research and Development in Industrial and Academic Institutions or Science and Technology Organisations and Scientific activities and services

Experience in Desalination, water and wastewater treatment, and waste recycling.

Job/Position Description-
The position is temporary for a period of 1 year and tenable only for the duration of the project. The appointment is for time bound project and the candidate is required to work mainly for the successful completion of the project. Project title: Centre of Excellence (CoE) on Membrane Technologies for Desalination Brine Management and Water Recycling
About the project: Extreme water stress is expected by 2050, affecting 40% of the population, with a fourfold demand increase in the manufacturing sector and one-fold from domestic usage by 2050. The growing population, climate change, and increasing water scarcity have imparted the need for non-conventional sources of freshwater. Water in any form covers almost two-third of our Earth; still, potable resources are limited to only 1% of the global water presence. So, other alternate resources like seawater and wastewater should be used to obtain the desired quality of water using new-generation processes. Recently, in India, many states (Tamil Nadu, Gujarat, and Odisha) have proposed desalination plants to meet the water demand; additionally, some states, such as Maharashtra, to deal with the summer session water crisis. However, in India, we have limited expertise and technologies for desalination. Based on all the CoE on Membrane Technologies for Desalination, Brine Management, and Water Recycling, will aim to solve the prevalent and emerging desalination challenges in the Indian scenario with the state-of-the-art technology with five IITs (IITB, IITD, IITKGP, IITT, and IITH) with different industries, NGO and other stakeholders to furnish various desalination, brine management, and water recycling technologies.
Pay Details: Consolidated salary Rs.49000/- p.m. + HRA
