About- The Department of Biotechnology, IIT Madras is seeking applications for a temporary Project Associate position. The position, initially for one year, is extendable based on performance. The candidate will analyze large NGS datasets, work on the Linux platform, and have experience in bioinformatics and statistics tools. The job is full-time and requires a biodata/resume.

Eligibility/Qualification–

M. Sc, M. Tech – Bioinformatics OR Ph.D. – Bioinformatics

Experience: Minimum 3-5 years’ experience (Must have worked on NGS data analysis – WGS, WES and RNA seq)

Job/Position Description-

Applications are invited for the temporary post of Project Associate, Department of Biotechnology, IIT Madras.

Co-ordinator: Prof. S. Mahalingam, Department of Biotechnology, IIT Madras.

Duration: Initially for one year, later extendable based on the performance.

Post	Pay
Project Associate	Rs.40,000/- to Rs.60,000/- Per month

Job Description:

Analysing large NGS datasets (Homo sapiens – WGS, Exome and RNA seq data) – assembly, variant calling, secondary analysis and up to literature writing.
Profound experience in analyzing data generated on Illumina’s platforms.
Profound experience in working on the Linux platform.
Proficiency with standard bioinformatics and statistics tools, resources and packages. Proficiency and programming/scripting experience.
