First Class Post Graduate Degree, including the integrated PG degree, with three Years Experience or PhD or Second-Class Post Graduate Degree, including the integrated PG degree, with PhD and three years Experience.
Education Qualification: Master’s or PhD in Biological sciences or related field
Skill Sets – Protein expression (bacterial and baculovirus expression system), purification, structural and functional characterization.

Job Title: Project Research Scientist-II (Non-Medical)
Reports to: Dr. Dilip Kumar
Location: Ashoka University
Nature of work: Full-Time
Remuneration: 67000 INR + 9% HRA
Role and Responsibilities: Perform: Applications are invited for the ICMR-funded position of Project Research
Scientist-II (Non-Medical) in the Structural Virology lab (PI: Dr. Dilip Kumar) at Trivedi School of Biosciences, Ashoka University. The multi-institutional CAR grant (IIT Delhi, THSTI, and Ashoka University) is focused on developing affordable vaccine candidates against arboviruses.Our lab works on various aspects of protein biology such as cloning, expression, purification, and structural and functional characterization of viral proteins and complexes (cryoEM and X-ray crystallography). The Project Research Scientist position involves working closely with the principal investigator (Dr. Dilip Kumar) on all these experiments, performing data analysis, and other routine lab tasks. The fellow would also be expected to keep up with the relevant literature, participate in group discussions, and regularly present their work. The fellow could also aid in the preparation of manuscripts depending on the progress of the project. Keen interest and motivation to address fundamental questions related to the project, the ability to handle multiple projects, and the keeping of meticulous laboratory records are a must. Prior experience in protein biochemistry (expression, purification, and characterization) is mandatory. Prior experience working on baculovirus, and mammalian expression systems is desirable.
