About- NIMHANS is conducting a Walk-In-Interview for filling up Various posts on-contract basis for the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) funded project entitled “Discovery of exosomal Micro RNAs (miRNAs) in early Parkinson’s disease and progressive supranuclear palsy and Insights into their target pathways for novel therapeutic targets ” under Dr. Rohan R. Mahale, Principal Investigator and Additional Professor, Department of Neurology, NIMHANS.Bengaluru-560029.Â
Research/Job Area-Â Neurochemistry/Biochemistry/ Medical Biochemistry/Biotechnology/Human Genetics/Biomedical Genetics/ Life Sciences
Location- National Institute Of Mental Health & Neuro Sciences Medical school, Bengaluru, India
Eligibility/Qualification–
| Essential qualification | First class Post Graduate degree including the integrated PG degrees, with Three years of experience OR PhD in Neurochemistry/Biochemistry/ Medical Biochemistry/Biotechnology/Human Genetics/Biomedical Genetics/ Life Sciences from a recognized board/institute. |
| Desirable experience | i) Experience in cell culture techniques, Western blotting, Transmission electron microscope, quantitative PCR and Next Generation Sequencing. ii) Experience in working with the statistical software like SPSS, GraphPad Prism, R and bioinformatics tools for analyzing NGS data. |
| Maximum age limit | 40 years |

| Emoluments | Rs. 67,000/- + 30% HRA per month. |
| Duration of the post | 3 years Initial appointment will be made for a period of 12 months, which will be extended every 12 months for three years (or till the end of the project) depending upon the performance of the candidate. |
| Job Description | The job involves (but not restricted to) implementation of: Blood sample collection, processing and storage Exosome isolation, characterization through TEM and Western blotting. RNA isolation, sequencing and qPCR. Data analysis and manuscript preparation Procurement of consumables and budget management |

| Essential qualification | Three Years Graduate degree in relevant subject (Biochemistry/Medical Biochemistry/ Human genetics/Biotechnology/Life Sciences) + three Years post qualification experience. OR Post Graduate in Biochemistry/Medical Biochemistry/ Human Genetics/ Applied Genetics/Biotechnology/Life Sciences / related field from recognized board/Institute. |
| Desirable experience | i) Experience in PBMC isolation, RNA isolation and PCR. iii) Knowledge of Computer applications like Microsoft excel |
| Maximum age limit | 35 years |
| Emoluments | Rs. 28,000/- + 30% HRA per month. |
| Duration of the post | 3 years Initial appointment will be made for a period of 12 months, which will be extended every 12 months for three years (or till the end of the project) depending upon the performance of the candidate. |
