Eligibility/Qualification–
Essential Qualification & Experience:
1. First class post graduate degree, including the integrated PG degrees (preferably bioinformatics/computational biology/computer science)
OR
2. Second class post graduate degree, including the integrated PG degrees with PhD (preferably bioinformatics/computational biology/computer science)
OR
3. For Engineering/IT/CS – First Class Graduate Degree of Four years
Area of specialization required for the post: Bioinformatics, Computational Biology
Desirable qualification / Job Description:
The project aims to explore the factors contributing to the aggressive nature of postpartum breast cancer in young women by utilizing genomics, transcriptomics (both bulk and spatial), and pathological data. The candidate will work with these datasets, as well as publicly available data, to conduct integrative data analysis and develop statistical models.
These models will be used to predict factors associated with clinical outcomes and identify prognostic markers. The candidate is expected to be familiar with coding (R/Python), basis statistics, next-generation sequence analysis (DNA-seq/RNA-seq) and cancer biology.
Job/Position Description-
NCBS invites applications from suitable individuals for the position of Project Research Scientist – I (non-medical) under the project titled “Deciphering the complexity of Postpartum breast cancer in young women- integrated analysis of genomics and spatial characteristics for improved patient outcomes” sanctioned up to three years. The post is purely temporary and co-terminus with the project.

Fellowship/Salary per month: Rs.56,000 + HRA as applicable.
