Essential Qualifications
Candidates must meet one of the following criteria:
Option 1:
- Ph.D. in Mechanical / Aerospace / Chemical Engineering or equivalent
- Demonstrated research experience in physical sciences through quality journal publications, patents, or technology development
Option 2:
- M.Tech. in Mechanical / Thermal / Chemical / Aerospace Engineering or equivalent
- Minimum 3 years of relevant research or professional experience
- Proven research interest through publications, patents, or technology development
Desirable Experience
- Prior experience in computational and experimental heat transfer
- Expertise in designing and fabricating experimental test rigs and setups
Age Limit
- As per Government of India / sponsoring agency norms
- Relaxation in age and experience may be considered for candidates with higher qualifications

The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Patna invites applications for the position of Research Associate–I (RA-I) under a time-bound sponsored research project funded by ISRO (RESPOND Programme). The selected candidate will work on an advanced experimental research project focused on condensation heat transfer and pressure drop in circular tubes. This position is ideal for highly motivated researchers with strong backgrounds in heat transfer, thermal sciences, and experimental research.

Designation
Research Associate – I (RA-I)
(Temporary, Project-based Appointment)
- Conduct experimental investigations related to condensation heat transfer and pressure drop
- Design, fabricate, and operate experimental test rigs
- Perform data acquisition, analysis, and interpretation
- Publish research findings in high-quality journals
- Assist the Principal Investigator (PI) and Co-PI in achieving project milestones
- Contribute to reports, documentation, and project deliverables
- Collaborate with project team members and sponsoring agency as required
