About- Applications are invited for the position of Research Associate (RA) at the Department of Physics, N. I. T. Durgapur. He or She will work on a SThe Department of Physics at the National Institute of Technology (NIT) Durgapur invites applications for one Research Associate (RA) position under an ongoing SERB-sponsored project titled “Titanium dioxide (TiO₂)/Vanadium dioxide (VO₂) NWs heterostructure as a stable optical switch” [File No. CRG/2021/000255]. The appointment is until January 28, 2025, with a possibility of extension based on project continuation and performance.
Research/Job Area- Physics, Mathematics, or Material Science
Location- National Institute of Technology, Durgapur
Eligibility/Qualification–
Essential:
- Ph.D. in Physics, Mathematics, or Material Science with reputed publications.
- Experience with theoretical simulations using COMSOL, MATLAB, Python, etc.
- Age: Less than 38 years.
Desirable:
- Proficiency in English writing and communication.
- Hands-on experience with experimental techniques such as Thermal Vapor Deposition and E-Beam Deposition units.
Job/Position Description-
- Conduct research on the SERB-funded project focusing on the development and characterization of TiO₂/VO₂ NWs heterostructures as optical switches.
- Collaborate with the research team to perform theoretical simulations and experimental validations.
- Prepare and publish high-quality research papers in reputed journals.
- Assist in project-related administrative tasks, if required.
Duration: Until January 28, 2025 (extendable based on project continuation and performance).
Salary:
- Monthly Salary: ₹47,000
- HRA: 16% (if institute accommodation is unavailable)
- Total Monthly Emoluments: ₹54,520
- Annual Salary: ₹6,54,240
