BRIC-inStem, an autonomous research institute under the Department of Biotechnology, Ministry of Science & Technology, Government of India, invites applications from eligible candidates for various contractual research and technical positions in the laboratory of Dr. Dhandapani S P. The positions are funded by BIRAC, ICMR, and DBT projects. These are contract-based appointments, designed for professionals who are motivated, results-oriented, and capable team players in a fast-paced research environment.
1. Laboratory Technician
- Designation: Laboratory Technician
- No. of Posts: 1
- Age Limit: 50 years
- Monthly Emolument: ₹20,000 + 27% HRA
- Eligibility/Qualification:
- B.Sc./3 years Diploma in Engineering & Technology or Bachelor’s in Technology/Engineering from a recognized university or equivalent.
- Desirable: 3–5 years of lab computational work and management experience (ordering, inventory, performing assigned duties).
- Job Description:
- Lab management including ordering, maintaining inventory, and performing assigned duties.
2. Project Associate-I
- Designation: Project Associate-I
- No. of Posts: 1
- Age Limit: 35 years
- Monthly Emolument:
- ₹31,000 + 27% HRA (Net Qualified)
- ₹25,000 + HRA (Non-Net Qualified; must have research experience)
- Eligibility/Qualification:
- Master’s Degree in Natural or Agricultural Sciences/MVSc OR Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/Technology/Medicine from a recognized university or equivalent.
- Desirable: National-level exams qualification (GATE, DST-INSPIRE, CSIR-NET, DBT-JRF, ICMR-JRF), cell biology experience (CRISPR/Cas9 knock-in rat and iPSC generation, cell culture, transfection, microscopy, cell-based assays, animal handling).
- Job Description:
- CRISPR/Cas9 knock-in, iPSC generation, cell culture, molecular, and cell biology techniques.
3. Project Associate-II (BIRAC & DBT-funded)
- Designation: Project Associate-II
- No. of Posts: 1 (BIRAC), 1 (DBT)
- Age Limit: 35 years
- Monthly Emolument:
- ₹35,000 + 27% HRA (Net Qualified)
- ₹28,000 + HRA (Non-Net Qualified; must have research experience)
- Eligibility/Qualification:
- Master’s in Science OR Bachelor’s in Science/Technology with 2 years of research experience in cell culture, molecular biology techniques.
- For DBT post: 2 years’ experience in R&D in industrial/academic institutions or science organizations.
- Desirable: National-level exams qualification and cell biology techniques.
- Job Description:
- Generation of Indian ancestry-specific organoids; cell culture, microscopy, transfection; NGS data analysis; regular data analysis and updates; literature surveying; presentations.
4. Senior Project Associate
- Designation: Senior Project Associate
- No. of Posts: 1
- Age Limit: 40 years
- Monthly Emolument: ₹42,000 + 27% HRA
- Eligibility/Qualification:
- Master’s in Natural/Agricultural Sciences/MVSc OR bachelor’s in Engineering/Technology/Medicine AND four years’ experience in R&D OR Doctoral Degree in Science/Engineering/Technology/Pharma/MD/MS
- Desirable: Experience in stem cell culture

- Generation of Indian ancestry-specific organoids; advanced cell and molecular biology tasks.
5. Project Research Scientist (Non-Medical) – I
- Designation: Project Research Scientist – (Non-Medical) – I
- No. of Posts: 1
- Age Limit: 35 years
- Monthly Emolument: ₹56,000 + 27% HRA
- Eligibility/Qualification:
- First Class Post-Graduate degree
- Desirable: Experience in molecular/cellular biology; NGS analysis
- Job Description:
- Develop, optimize, and validate stem cell-derived organoids, NGS data analysis (whole-exome, RNA-Seq, single-cell RNA-Seq, spatial transcriptomics), and molecular dynamics simulation.
