About-  Allahabad University has always occupied an esteemed place among the universities of India for over a century now. Established on 23rd September 1887, it is the fourth oldest university of India after Calcutta, Bombay and Madras University. In this millenium year, the University of Allahabad completes more than a hundred and thirteen years.

Research/Job Area-Electronics System Design & Manufacturing (ESDM) or Information Technology/IT Enabled Services (IT/ ITES)

• Neurodegenerative disorders, therapeutic development, molecular biology, stem cell and mammalian cell culture, translational neuroscience.

Eligibility/Qualification– 

Ph.D. degree with the research domain focusing in Electronics System Design & Manufacturing (ESDM) or Information Technology/IT Enabled Services (IT/ ITES)

Other Important Eligibility Conditions: 

• The PDF is awarded to researchers with a proven academic record, including peer-reviewed publications and recognitions. 
• It is a full-time, non-transferable, temporary position tenable in India only. 
• The fellowship is valid for 1 year. 
• The PDF applicant should be an Indian citizen. 
• PDF applicants currently in regular employment will not be considered. However, scientists or researchers with temporary positions in academia or research institutions would be considered, but they would be required to relinquish their current roles if selected for the fellowship. 
• The PDF applicant must have obtained a PhD degree from a recognized institution with first class (in terms of grades, etc.) in all preceding levels and a good academic record throughout. 
• The PDF applicant should have completed PhD within the past 5 years on the last date of submission of application.
• The PDF applicants should not have completed their PhD from University of Allahabad.
• The upper age limit for the fellowship is 40 years on the date of submission of application.
• The research proposal of the PDF applicant, to be submitted to the institution, should define clear objectives, outcomes and deliverables against the award. 
• Preference would be given to the PDF applicants who have active industry linkages and their research proposal is directed towards industry specific problems. 
• Any extension beyond one year support for PDF candidates is not admissible under the scheme. 
• If any PDF candidate has already availed the fellowship under the scheme, he/she will not be eligible for support.

Postdoctoral Fellowship (PDF) position under Visvesvaraya PhD Scheme, for Electronics and IT, Phase-II, Digital India Corporation, MietY, GoI

The University of Allahabad invites applications for Postdoctoral Fellowship (PDF) positions under the Visvesvaraya Ph.D. Scheme for Electronics and IT: Phase-II for the Session 2026-27 (Ref.: Implementation Order No.: PhD-02/PDF-2026/97). It is a full-time, non-transferable, temporary position tenable in India only. The Eligibility and Research Domain, available seats, and fellowship details are as follows: 

Application Fee (non-refundable): Rs.500/- for General / EWS / OBC category & Rs.250/- for SC / ST / PWD category.

How to Apply- 

1. Interested and eligible candidates are invited to apply by submitting a duly completed application form (Annexure-1) in the prescribed format (attached), along with research proposal (with clear objectives, outcomes and deliverables), receipt of submitted requisite fee, comprehensive CV and self-attested photocopies of all supporting documents sent by Indian post, to The Head of the Department, Department of Electronics and Communication, Science Faculty, University of Allahabad, Prayagraj-211002, U.P. India. The hard copy envelop should clearly be superscribed with “Application for PDF position under Visvesvaraya PhD Scheme, for Electronics and IT, Phase-II, DIC, MietY at University of Allahabad”. The hard copy of the application form along with all supporting documents must be received no later than 18/11/2026.
2. In addition to the hard copy, candidates must email the completed application form including the filled form, CV and supporting documents to nodal_visphd@allduniv.ac.in. 
3. Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted via email for further selection procedures.
