Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi, India, invites applications for the Research Associate Post at BHU from eligible and interested candidates.
About- Banaras Hindu University, formerly Central Hindu College, is a central public university located in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh. It was established jointly in 1916 by the Maharaja of Darbhanga Rameshwar Singh, Pandit Madan Mohan Malaviya, Sir Sunder Lal and British Theosophist and Home Rule League founder Annie Besant.

Eligibility/Qualification –
Essential Qualification: Candidates must hold a Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry. The upper age limit will be as per ANRF guidelines and relaxation in age for SC/ST/PhysicaIIy Handicapped/FemaIe candidates will be given as per ANRF guidelines/ Gol rules on producing relevant certificates. All things being equal, SC/ST candidates will be preferred as per Gol rules.
Desirable Qualifications: Experience in electro-organic synthesis, photo-catalyzed or transition metal-catalyzed ofganic synthesis is highly desirable.
Job/Position Description-
Applications are invited for the one position of Research Associate—I with a fellowship of Rs. 58,000/- per month + HRA (or as per ANRF guidelines) in an Anusandhan National Research Foundation (ANRF)-lndia sponsored project (ANRF/ARG/2025/003605/CS; BHU Code: P07/1352) entitled “Transient Intermediates in Metallaelectro-catalyzed Remote C—H Functionalization: Bypassing Directing Group Constraints,” sanctioned for up to three years.
Tenures The position is purely temporary, initially for a period of twelve months, and may be renewed annually based on satisfactory performance for a maximum duration of three years or project tenure whichever earlier. The appointment will be co-terminous With the project.
