About- National Institute of Solar Energy (NISE) is an Autonomous Institute of Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, Government of India to function as an Apex National Centre for research and technology development and related activities in the areas of Solar Energy Technologies in the Country. NISE is located on a 200-acre campus at the Gurugram-Faridabad Road, Gwal-Pahari, Gurugram, Haryana.

Research/Job Area- Electrical / Electrical & Electronics /Electronics & Communication/ Mechanical / Renewable Energy/ Computer Science Engineering/ Atmospheric Science, or related field

Location- National Institute of Solar Energy, Gurugram, Haryana.

Eligibility/Qualification–

Ph.D# in Electrical / Electrical & Electronics /Electronics & Communication/ Mechanical / Renewable Energy/ Computer Science Engineering/ Atmospheric Science, or related field.

M.Tech in Engineering (Electrical / Electrical & Electronics /Electronics & Communication/ Mechanical / Renewable Energy/ Computer science/Atmospheric Science), or related field with at least three years of experience in relevant field (mentioned in job requirement). Experience in solar data analysis will be preferred.

# Those who have submitted their Ph.D. thesis are also eligible to apply.

Selection in such cases will be subject to the condition that PhD viva-voce done & declared qualified for award of PhD/awarded PhD degree before the expiry of the validity of the award offer.

The candidate applying for RA must have at least one research publication in standard refereed journal as listed in Journal Citation Reports (JCR).
Excellent written and verbal communication.

Desirable Experience

Certification in data science and machine learning.
Understanding of solar potential assessment and forecasting.
Implement data science solutions that may involve machine learning or data science techniques.
Knowledge of statistical approaches, incl. advanced machinelearning techniques.
Proficiency with database programming languages such as SQL, R or Python.
Must have working experience with GIS based mapping tools.

Job/Position Description-

NISE invites application from outstanding and enthusiastic researchers from Indian citizen for RA position from FY 2022-23 to FY 2025-26. Candidate should be passionate about working on cutting edge research leading to high impact publications and product development in the field of solar energy.

Research Associate (RA) Upper limit: 35 Years* (The upper age limit is relaxable up to 5 years in the case of applicants belonging to SC/ST, physically Handicapped and women applicants whereas 3 years in case of OBC (NonCreamy Layer candidates).	01 (One)	Engagement shall be initially for a period of one year and extendable up to three years on year to year basis depending upon the Performance.	Solar Potential Assessment and Forecasting Analyzing spatial data through the use of mapping software. Designing digital maps with geographic data and other data sources. Preparation of the detailed solar potential map at the state/district-level. Analyzing the solar radiation data of India (state and district-wise). To develop solar radiation forecasting (short-term and long-term) models using machine learning. Planning and execution of relevant research work and data analyses, including modelling, and survey etc. Contribute to broader research activities and output of the Group with support and guidance, both individually and as a member of a team. Maintain a highquality record of regular and original research publications of high international standing including peer reviewed journal papers. Present and demonstrate research results at project workshops, seminars and conferences.	 Rs. 47000/- per month HRA will be applicable as per central govt. norms. (Contingency: Actual or maximum of Rs. 20,000/- per year, whichever is less.)

Terms & Conditions
- Period of Engagement: Period of engagement is as stated in column (5) of the eligibility criteria against this post. The position is purely on temporary basis. There will not be any claim from the candidate for seeking permanent position in the institute.
- Selection Procedure: The engagement will be purely on short term contract basis. Selections will be based on interview in response to this advertisement, on the basis of relevant research work experience and qualification of applicants.
- Remuneration: As per the National Renewable Energy Fellowship (NREF), MNRE norms as stated in column

(7) of the eligibility criteria Table.

Scope of Duties: During the period of such engagement, the candidates would be required to perform any work as specified in the above table along with any other duties assigned to them by the Heads of the divisions/laboratories of NISE.
