About- The School of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering (MAE) boasts comprehensive state-of-the-art facilities and a faculty comprising more than 130 professors, making it one of the largest mechanical engineering schools in the world. Faculty members are drawn from renowned universities worldwide, providing a wealth of collective expertise in traditional mechanical and aerospace engineering, and in specialities including manufacturing, mechatronics, innovative design, nanotechnology, and biomedical and computational applications.

We are seeking enthusiastic individuals with exceptional credentials to join a vibrant and dynamic research group. The successful candidates will participate in an initiative on developing a novel VTOL / UAV.

Research/Job area– Mechanical /  Aerospace / Electrical / Computer Science / materials engineering or equivalent.

Eligibility/Qualification-Candidates for Research Fellow position should possess recognized PhD degree in Mechanical /  Aerospace / Electrical / Computer Science / materials engineering or equivalent.

Expertise and experience in one or more of the following areas will be highly beneficial:

  • Aircraft Design
  • Manufacturing
  • Propulsion
  • Power systems
  • Aerodynamics
  • Structures
  • Controls and electrical systems

Candidates with prior experience in VTOL/UAV development will be considered favourably.

Job/Position Description-

  • Design and optimisation of VTOL / UAV
  • Sourcing, manufacturing and assembly of VTOL / UAV
  • Perform investigations (experimental and numerical) on propulsion, aerodynamics, structures, materials and / or controls.
  • Demonstrate flight of VTOL.
  • Assist in lab set-up
  • Supervise students working on project
  • Present study progress, reports and latest findings at regular intervals
  • Publish quality research articles to disseminate study findings

The work is carried out at the School of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering in Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. The environment provides excellent training in a highly motivated working environment with state-of-the-art facilities.
