About- National Institute of Animal Biotechnology (NIAB) is an autonomous institute under Department of Biotechnology, Ministry of Science & Technology, and Government of India. NIAB is aimed to harness novel and emerging biotechnologies and create knowledge in the cutting edge areas for improving animal health and productivity. The Institute’s research focus is on animal genetics and genomics, transgenic technology, reproductive technology, diseases, nutritional enrichment, and bioinformatics. The Institute aims at translational research leading to genetic enhancement of Indian Livestock species and basic research towards development of novel vaccines, diagnostics and improved therapeutic molecules for farm animals.

Eligibility/Qualification–
Eligibility:
Minimum Essential Qualification:
PhD/MD/MDS or equivalent degree OR MVSc/MPharm/ME/MTech, with three years of research, teaching and design and development experience, with at least one research paper in Science Citation Index (SCI) journal
AND
- Two (2) years of further research experience.
All qualifications must be from a recognized board or university. All the experience gained shall preferably be from a government organization and shall be counted after the date of completion of the minimum essential qualification.
Desirable Experience: Microbiology, cloning, protein expression and purification, bacteriophage techniques.
Age limit: 40 years (relaxation is admissible in case of SC/ST/OBC candidates as per Government norms).
Job/Position Description-
Applications are invited from suitable candidates for filling up the following position at the National Institute of Animal Biotechnology (NIAB), Hyderabad.
Project Title: Bacteriophages for mitigating bovine mastitis and antimicrobial resistance.
PI: Dr. Nagendra R. Hegde. Project duration: 3 years.
Post: Research Associate – II
No. of positions: 1 (One)
Tenable for up to one year, likely to be extended based on performance and co-terminus with the project duration.
Remuneration: Rs. 61,000/-PM + applicable HRA as per DST guidelines.
