About- The Indian Association for the Cultivation of Science (IACS) is a society registered under Act XXI of 1860 and the corresponding State Act viz. the West Bengal State Registration Act 1961, with its headquarters at 2A & 2B, Raja S. C. Mallick Road, Calcutta – 700 032, West Bengal, India. It has a Governing Council with several members elected or nominated and the Registrar as its Non-Member Secretary. The Council has the functions, duties and power as envisaged in the Memorandum and Bye-Laws and per the relevant Act’s provisions.

Eligibility/Qualification–
Essential Qualifications: A candidate should have a first class or a high second class B.Sc. & M.Sc. degree in Physics / Chemistry / Material Science subject with minimum average marks of 55% and has obtained Ph.D. in Science. The candidate should have a Ph.D. degree and research experience supported by publications in peer-reviewed journals. Preference will be given to candidate having hands-on working experience with / on i) glove box, ii) thermal evaporator system, iii) the fabrication of organic light emitting diode (OLED) device with organic small molecules or polymers, iv) the testing of electroluminescence studies cum light emitting properties and allied domain. Job/Position Description-
Recruitment of one Research Associate (RA-I) under SERB-DST sponsored project entitled, “Buta-1,3Diene based Small Molecules and Polymers: their Potential Applications as Light Emitting Diodes” in the School of Applied and Interdisciplinary Sciences.
Research Area: OLED properties
Number of Post: One (1)
Emoluments: As per rules of SERB-DST.
Tenure of Fellowship: One year from the date of joining as RA-I. However, the extension for 6 months and 6 months (Max. 2 times) may be granted based on the evaluation and satisfactory performance. The position is purely temporary, and the candidate will not have any right to claim (explicit or implicit) to any permanent position in the institute. The position is purely temporary. No TA will be admissible for attending the interview.
Selection Procedure: Applications will be shortlisted on the basis of past academic record, research publications, match of the past research expertise with desired technical skills, as decided by the selection committee. Only shortlisted candidates will be communicated via email and called for an interview for the final selection. Merely satisfying the essential qualification does not guarantee that a candidate will be shortlisted for interview. IACS holds the full right of choosing a candidate and even not selecting any, in case suitable applications are not received.
Date of Interview: Tentatively in the 2nd week of October, 2025. Shortlisted candidates will be informed the schedule through email.
