The institute offers attractive research grants (₹10 lakh initial seed grant), CPDA (₹3 lakh per 3-year block), relocation allowances up to ₹1.5 lakh, and a dynamic interdisciplinary research environment.

Designation & Pay Scale

Assistant Professor Grade-II: Pay Level 10 (Minimum pay: ₹98,200/-) or Pay Level 11.
Assistant Professor Grade-I: Pay Level 12 (Minimum pay: ₹1,01,500/-).
Associate Professor: Pay Level 13A2 (Minimum pay: ₹1,39,600/-).
Professor: Pay Level 14A (Minimum pay: ₹1,59,100/-).

Eligibility & Qualification

1. General Educational Qualification (All Posts)

Ph.D. with a first class or equivalent in the preceding degree, alongside an excellent academic record throughout.

2. Experience & Age Limits by Designation

Assistant Professor Grade-II:
- Experience: Candidates with less than 3 years of post-Ph.D. industrial, research, or teaching experience. Strong publication record in Q1 journals/top-tier conferences ($A^*$ and A) and patents.
- Age Limit: Preferably up to 35 years.
Assistant Professor Grade-I:
- Experience: Minimum 3 years of post-Ph.D. experience in teaching, research, or industry. Strong record of research guidance, Q1 journal publications, $A^*/A$ conferences, and patents.
- Age Limit: Preferably up to 35 years.
Associate Professor:
- Experience: Minimum 6 years post-Ph.D. experience in teaching/research/industry, of which at least 3 years must be at the level of Assistant Professor (Pay Level-12) or equivalent. Strong record of Ph.D. guidance and publications.
- Age Limit: Preferably up to 45 years.
Professor:
- Experience: Minimum 10 years of post-Ph.D. teaching/research/professional experience, of which at least 4 years must be at the level of Associate Professor (Pay Level-13A2) in IITs, IISc Bangalore, IIMs, IISERs, or reputed foreign universities. (Bhatnagar Awardees / Fellows of INSA, INAE, IAS, NASI with exceptional records are also eligible).
- Age Limit: Preferably up to 55 years.

Artificial Intelligence: NLP, Graph ML, Geometric Deep Learning, AI based on Statistical Physics, AI Systems, AI in Finance, Safety of Agentic Systems, Edge Computing/Distributed Intelligence (Open to UG in any science/engineering with Ph.D./Postdoc in AI/ML).
Biomedical Engineering: Biomedical Instrumentation, Medical Robotics, Brain Machine Interfaces, Neurotechnology, Medical Devices, Biomedical Imaging Instrumentation, Algorithms & platforms for imaging, Medical image processing, Radiation Physics & Therapy. (Note: Biomaterials, Tissue Eng., Regenerative Medicine, and Nanomedicine need not apply in this round).
Biotechnology:
- Area 1: Vaccine Biology & development; Cell and gene therapy including precision therapeutics.
- Area 2: AI in Biology and Health.
Chemical Engineering: AI/ML in ChemE, Electrochemical Engineering, Computational Biology, Process Control, Mineral Processing Technology & Critical Minerals, Pharmaceutical Engineering (Requires B.Tech/B.E. in ChemE).
Chemistry: Large Language Models & Robotic Chemistry for Molecular Discovery, Ultrafast Spectroscopy of Quantum Materials/Devices, Chemical Process Technology & Reaction Engineering (Requires UG & PG in Chemistry).
Climate Change: Ocean modelling/science & Climate Change, Climate Model development, Explicit aerosol-climate interactions, Climate extremes, AI applications explicitly to climate sciences, explicit social impacts, and explicit ecology-climate interactions.
Civil Engineering: Transportation Engineering (Requires B.Tech/B.E. in Civil Engineering).
Computer Science and Engineering: Algorithms, Formal Methods & Verification; AI/ML; Computer Vision, NLP & Autonomous Systems; Cryptography & Blockchain; Cybersecurity & Privacy; Distributed Systems & Cloud Computing; Quantum Computing; Semiconductor. (Special endowment top-up of ₹20,000/month for first year available for exceptional candidates).

Job Description

Conducting high-impact, independent, and collaborative research published in reputable Q1 journals and top conferences.
Securing external sponsored research projects, consulting, and developing intellectual property/patents.
Teaching core undergraduate and postgraduate courses (typically ~6 credits/year in the parent department, plus ~2 credits/year in up to two affiliated departments).
Mentoring and guiding postgraduate and doctoral (Ph.D.) scholars.
Contributing to academic administration, curriculum development, and institute-building initiatives.
