About- National Institute of Technology, Warangal, formerly known as Regional Engineering College, was established in 1959. Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru laid the foundation stone for this institute on October 10, 1959, the first in the chain of 30 NITs (formerly known as RECs) in the country. National Institute of Technology Warangal (NIT Warangal), an Institution of National Importance under the Ministry of Education, Government of India, invites online applications from eligible Indian citizens and Overseas Citizens of India (OCI) Cardholders for faculty positions across multiple academic departments. A total of 34 vacancies are announced across various pay levels under a four-tier flexible faculty structure.

Eligibility & Qualifications
- Essential Academic Qualification:
- Ph.D. in the respective discipline with First Class in preceding degrees.
- Candidates having a Ph.D. directly after BE/B.Tech are also eligible, provided they achieved First Class at the Bachelor’s level.
- Relevant UG/PG degrees as specified per discipline (e.g., Engineering, Sciences, Management, Education, Humanities).
- Upper Age Limit (as of the application deadline):
- Assistant Professor Grade II (PL-10): 35 years
- Assistant Professor Grade I (PL-12): 40 years
- Associate Professor (PL-13A2): 45 years
- Professor (PL-14A): 50 years
- Relaxation is applicable as per Government of India norms, and for candidates with high-value sponsored R&D grants/publications/Ph.D. guidance (up to a maximum of 60 years for fresh recruits).
- Inbreeding Policy:
- Candidates with a Ph.D. from NIT Warangal must have at least 3 years of post-Ph.D. experience to apply, unless currently serving as faculty at NIT Warangal.

Job Description & Key Responsibilities
- Deliver undergraduate and postgraduate classroom and laboratory instruction.
- Undertake high-impact research, publish in leading journals, and secure sponsored R&D and consultancy projects.
- Guide master’s and doctoral research scholars.
- Participate in curriculum development, departmental administration, and institutional development initiatives.
- Engage with academic and industrial bodies through conferences, workshops, and student mentorship.
Selection Process & Compensation Highlights
- Selection Process: Scrutiny of applications, cumulative credit points shortlisting / written test, teaching & research seminar presentation, followed by a personal interview.
- Benefits & Allowances: DA, TA, HRA (or on-campus residential quarters), Children Education Allowance, Medical reimbursement with cashless hospital tie-ups, LTC, National Pension System (NPS), Cumulative Professional Development Allowance (CPDA) of Rs. 3 Lakh, and initial research seed grant of Rs. 5 Lakh.
