About- Gujarat Biotechnology University (GBU) is a new post-graduate university established by the Gujarat Biotechnology University Act 2018. In a unique collaboration with the world-leading University of Edinburgh, GBU will place excellence and innovation at its core to deliver biotechnology solutions for society’s needs. GBU invites applications from exceptional scholars as founding faculty for the roles below. We especially encourage applications from candidates whose research is translational and has a high potential for product, process, or prototype development. GBU aims to launch MSc by Research and Ph.D. programs from August 2021.
Research/Job Area- Biotechnology/Biochemistry/Medicinal Chemistry/Chemical Biology or other Allied Areas
Location- Gujarat Biotechnology University, Gandhinagar, Gujarat, India
Eligibility/Qualification–
Minimum Qualifications:
PhD in Biotechnology/Biochemistry/Medicinal Chemistry/Chemical Biology or other Allied Areas
OR
Three years of research experience after M.Pharm/M.Tech/M.Sc with at least one research paper in a Science Citation Indexed (SCI) journal.
Desirable Skills/Qualifications:
- Candidates with hands-on expertise in solid-phase peptide synthesis (SPPS), purification (HPLC), and structural characterization.
- Candidates with hands-on expertise in Mammalian Cell Culture.
- Candidates with experience in Biochemical Assays for Enzyme-Inhibition Studies
- Candidates with a good Publication Record.

Job/Position Description-
Applications are invited for the post of Research Associate-1 (RA-1) to work under the research project titled “Development of Long-Acting Peptide Dual Modulators for Treatment of Hypertension and End-Organ Protection” funded by Gujarat State Biotechnology Mission, Govt. of Gujarat at Gujarat Biotechnology University (GBU). The post is purely temporary and coterminates with the project.
| Fellowship Duration | Initially for 1 year, extendable for the 2nd year (total 24 months or project tenure), subject to satisfactory progress and financial provisions. |
| Fellowship | Rs. 54,200/- per month, including HRA as per GSBTM, DST, GoG guidelines. |
