IRMRI is inviting applications from qualified and experienced professionals for the positions of Assistant Director | Scientist C and Senior Scientific Officer | Scientist B in the fields of Rubber Technology, Polymer Science & Technology, Chemistry, and Materials Science.

Eligibility / Qualification
Assistant Director | Scientist C
Essential Qualification:
Candidates must have a Ph.D. in any of the following from a reputed institute:
- Rubber Technology
- Polymer Science & Technology
- Chemistry (Rubber/Polymers)
- Materials Science (Rubber/Polymers)
The candidate should have secured at least 70% marks, or a minimum CGPA of 7.0/10 or 3.5/5.0 at Master’s level (M.Tech/M.Sc.) in the relevant discipline.
OR
M.Tech in:
- Rubber Technology
- Polymer Science & Technology
- Materials Science (Rubber/Polymers)
with at least 70% marks or equivalent CGPA.
Experience:
- Minimum 3 years post-Ph.D. experience, excluding the Ph.D. tenure; or
- 8 years of experience for M.Tech candidates.
- Experience should be in an R&D organization or industry in Rubber/Polymer Science and Technology.
Relevant experience should include areas such as:
- Compound Development
- Product Development
- Project Planning and Execution
- Failure Mode Analysis of Rubber/Polymer Products
- Testing and Characterization of Rubber/Polymer materials
Desirable:
- At least 3 publications in peer-reviewed international journals as first author
- Experience in an ISO 17025:2017 accredited laboratory
- Good leadership and management skills
- Strong presentation and report-writing skills
Senior Scientific Officer | Scientist B
Candidates may qualify through any of the following educational routes:
Ph.D. in:

with the prescribed Master’s-level academic performance.

- B.Tech candidates: 8 years
- M.Sc. candidates: 7 years
- M.Tech candidates: 5 years
Experience must be in an R&D organization or industry in Rubber/Polymer Science and Technology.
Relevant experience includes:

Job Description
Selected candidates will contribute to research, development, testing and technical activities related to rubber and polymer materials and products.
The responsibilities may include:
- Development and optimization of rubber/polymer compounds.
- Development of rubber and polymer-based products.
- Planning and execution of R&D projects.
- Testing and characterization of rubber and polymer materials.
- Failure mode analysis of rubber and polymer products.
- Technical analysis and preparation of research/technical reports.
- Supporting industrial R&D and technology development activities.
- Laboratory-based research and testing.
- Project planning, monitoring and execution.
- Quality and laboratory management activities.
- Presentations and communication of technical findings.
- Leadership and management of technical/research activities, particularly for the Scientist C position.
