About- Regional Centre for Biotechnology (RCB) is an Institution of national importance established by the Department of Biotechnology, Ministry of Science & Technology, and Govt. of India. The primary focus of RCB is to conduct innovative research and provide world-class education & training in Life Sciences and Biotechnology.

Research/Job Area- CS/IT/E&C/Bioinformatics/Computational Biology/Data Science and other research area in engineering/science

Location- Regional Centre for Biotechnology (RCB)

Post doc Fellowship in USA for Indian – Fulbright-Nehru Fellowships

Eligibility/Qualification–

Project Head

PhD with minimum of twelve (12) years of experience, or MTech (in any branch of engineering or science) with minimum of fifteen (15) years of experience, in an academic setting/industry in the area of bioinformatics/computational biology/data science, out of which 5 years must be in scientific/technical, program/project leadership role.

Senior Scientist (Bioinformatics/IT)

Ph.D. with a minimum of nine (09) years of experience, or MTech in CS/IT/E&C/Bioinformatics/Computational Biology/Data Science with a minimum of twelve (12) years of experience, in an academic setting/industry in the area of bioinformatics/computational biology/data science, out of which 3 years must be in scientific/technical, program/project leadership role.

Research Consultant

Ph.D. with minimum of nine (09) years of experience, or MTech in CS/IT/E&C/Bioinformatics/Computational Biology/Data Science with a minimum of twelve (12) years of experience, or BTech in CS/IT/E&C/Bioinformatics/ Computational Biology/Data Science or MCA with minimum fifteen (15) years of of experience in an academic setting/industry in the area of bioinformatics/computational biology/data science, out of which 3 years must be in scientific/technical program/project leadership role.

Database Manager

Ph.D. with three (03) years of experience, or MTech in CS/IT/E&C/Bioinformatics/Computational Biology/Data Science with eight (08) years
of experience in an academic setting/industry in design/implementation of modern database technologies, HPC and parallel computing, cloud computing, etc.

Scientist

Ph.D. with 3 years of experience, or MTech (in any branch of engineering/science) with 6 years of experience in an academic setting/industry in the area of bioinformatics/computational biology/data science, genomics/proteomics/metabolomics, structural biology, biodiversity, etc.

Age relaxation as per GoI norms is available to eligible applicants.

Job/Position Description-

RCB, with support from the Department of Biotechnology, Govt. of India, will set up the Indian Biological Data Centre (IBDC) for the storage and distribution of biological data. Applications (online mode) are invited from dynamic, result-oriented, and dedicated eligible candidates.

The positions will be on contract, initially till the duration of the project (13 March 2021) which may be extended subject to extension of the project duration and at the discretion of the Competent Authority as per the requirement of the Centre.

Project Head– Monthly consolidated emoluments up to Rs. 2,24,416

Senior Scientist (Bioinformatics/IT)– Monthly consolidated emoluments up to Rs. 2,04,416

Research Consultant– Monthly consolidated emoluments up to Rs. 2,04,416

Database Manager– Monthly consolidated emoluments up to Rs. 1,24,541

Scientist– Monthly consolidated emoluments up to Rs. 1,24,541
