ICICGEB, New Delhi invites application for Research Scientist position at ICGEB, from eligible and interested candidates
About-The Cellular Immunology Group at the International Centre for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology (ICGEB), New Delhi invites applications for multiple temporary project-based positions. These positions are initially for one year and may be extended annually based on performance and project requirements. Candidates with strong experimental, computational, or technical expertise in life sciences are encouraged to apply.

Eligibility/Qualification–
1. Project Research Scientist II / Research Associate (RA)
- Nature of Position: Temporary (1 year, extendable)
- Educational Qualification:
- PhD in any field of Life Sciences
Essential Requirements:
- Extensive experience in small animal handling (mice, guinea pigs)
- Expertise in dosing methods (oral gavage, IP, IV, ID, etc.)
- Experience in tissue harvesting
- Flow Cytometry / FACS sorting (mandatory)
- Prior experience in BSL-3 environment (preferred)
- Ability to work independently, troubleshoot experiments, and collaborate in a large team
2. Project Research Scientist I / Senior Research Fellow (SRF)
- Nature of Position: Temporary (1 year, extendable)
- Educational Qualification:
- MSc in Life Sciences / Physics / Mathematics, or
- M.Tech in a related field
Essential Eligibility:
- Only NET/GATE-qualified candidates or M.Tech holders will be considered for interviews
Desirable Skills (any one or more):
- Knowledge of flow cytometry
- Hands-on experience in molecular biology / microbiology, including:
- Gene cloning and expression
- Prokaryotic and eukaryotic systems
- Immunoprecipitation, flow cytometry
- Computational & bioinformatics skills, such as:
- NGS read alignment
- Expression analysis
- Multivariate analysis
- Data handling and visualization
- Ability to work on Linux-based systems (highly desirable)
3. Project Technical Support-II
- Nature of Position: Temporary (1 year, extendable)
- Educational Qualification:
- 12th (Science), or
- Diploma (MLT / DMLT / Engineering), or
- Minimum 5 years of relevant work experience
Job/Position Description-
- Conduct project-specific experimental or computational research
- Maintain laboratory records and ensure protocol compliance
- Participate in data analysis, troubleshooting, and reporting
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary research teams
- Support ongoing research activities as assigned by the PI
