Eligibility/Qualification–
To be successful, applicants should have, or expect to soon have, a PhD in theoretical/computational chemistry (or chemical engineering), computational materials science, or applied computational physics.
You will have a strong and demonstrated track record in a range of molecular simulation techniques and first principles calculations.
You will also have extensive experience working in a linux environment and have solid skills in writing code.
Outstanding communication skills in fluent English, with the ability to produce manuscripts suitable for publication in a timely fashion are essential.
The ability to work with multidisciplinary research teams and meet competing deadlines under pressure are also essential requirements.
Job/Position Description-
Your key responsibilities will be to conduct research using molecular simulations and first principles calculations in the relevant research area, to analyse data using a variety of codes (including in-house produced code), to liaise frequently and constructively with our experimental partners, to produce and regular written and oral reports on research progress, and to prepare manuscripts in English in a timely fashion that are suitable for publication.
This is a 2.5 year full-time post at a Level A salary level between $67,562

Applications are invited for suitably qualified candidates for a postdoctoral researcher position in the area of molecular simulation of 2D nanomaterials and their interfaces with biomolecules, chiefly peptides and peptide conjugates. The successful candidate will carry out research on this US Air Force funded project under the supervision of Prof. Tiffany Walsh at the Institute for Frontier Materials, at Deakin University Waurn Ponds campus, Geelong, Australia. This project is an international collaboration in partnership with an experimental team led by Prof. Marc Knecht at the University of Miami in the US.
