About- Dr. B R Ambedkar National Institute of Technology was established in 1987 as Regional Engineering College. It was given the status of National Institute of Technology (Deemed University) by the Government of India on October 17, 2002, under the Ministry of Human Resource Development, New Delhi. Now the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India has declared the Institute as “Institute of National Importance” under Parliament-2007. Many reputed Industrial houses in the country visit the Institution and select the final year students as Engineers/ Management Trainees. As one of the National Institutes of Technology (NIT), the Institute has the responsibility of providing high-quality education in Engineering, Technology, and Sciences to produce a competent technical and scientific workforce for the country. Eligibility/Qualification–
Persons with deeper understanding in a particular field. Qualifications similar to those of regular faculty except PhD, which is desirable but not essential. Lack of PhD may be mapped against knowledge and deep experience. Experience of 10-15 years is required. Selection of APoP/PoP will be made on the basis of experience and performance. Experience should be at senior management position such as CEO/CTO/VP/Director.
Job/Position Description-
Dr B R Ambedkar National Institute of Technology, Jalandhar invites applications from the serving or retired professionals from Industry/Research Organisations for engagement as Associate Professor of Practice/Professor of Practice (APoP/PoP).

Role and Responsibilities/Activities
The main tasks of this department include teaching practical courses, guiding students in projects, establishing connections with industry, securing industry projects, promoting entrepreneurship, enhancing collaboration between industry and academia, setting up centers of excellence, expanding the department’s scope, and creating continuing education programs.
Honorarium: 50% of compensation paid in parent organization or as decided by the Competent authority.
Duration: Initial contract will be of 12 months. After rigorous review, the candidate may either be absorbed on permanent position for which PhD degree shall be essential or contract may be extended for another five years with the permission of parent organisation. The maximum age limit to remain in the service is 70 years.
