About- IIT Ropar – Technology and Innovation Foundation (TIF) is a Section – 8 company founded to support the initiatives of recently established Technology Innovation Hub – AWaDH (Agriculture and Water Technology Development Hub) at the Indian Institute of Technology Ropar in the framework of National Mission on Interdisciplinary Cyber-Physical Systems (NM – ICPS) by the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India. The TIF supports the R&D in the domain of Agriculture and Water and provides incubation support to technology-based start-ups towards sustainable agriculture and the environment.

Eligibility/Qualification–
Essential Qualifications: Ph.D. degree holders in Science or Engineering (or those having their thesis submission certificate), with expertise in experimental condensed matter physics. The applicant should have completed PhD within the past 5 years.
Upper Age Limit: Below 35 years on the last date of submission of the application (Relaxation as per funding agency norms).
Job/Position Description-
Applications are invited from Indian Nationals for the Post-Doc Fellow position (1) under the mentorship of Assistant Professor Dr. Lakhan Bainsla (PI) and Associate professor Dr. Rakesh Kumar (Co-PI), in the Department of Physics, Indian Institute of Technology Ropar. The candidate will work on the project entitled “Energy-efficient Quantum Materials-based Magnetic Tunnel
Junctions for Unconventional Computing Applications” funded by MeitY under Meity-NSF scheme. Selected candidate will work in close collaboration with computational modeling group lead by Assistant professor Dr. Vivekanand Shukla (Co-PI). The candidate should have a strong background in the development of magnetic thin films and heterostructure, spin-orbit torque measurements and analysis, and basic understanding of quantum materials and their potential applications in spintronic technologies.
Post: Postdoctoral Fellow
Positions: 01
Duration: Initially for one year, extendable up to one additional year based on the performance or until the project’s completion, whichever is earlier.
Emoluments: Fellowship Rs. 65000/- per month + 9% HRA per month.
