Eligibility/Qualification–
- PhD in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Engineering Design, or Architecture Preferably with doctoral research in Life Cycle Assessment (LCA)
- Ability to work both collaboratively and independently
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, as well as interpersonal and project management abilities
- High-quality journal publications on the application of LCA
- Proficiency in LCA software tools such as SimaPro, One Click LCA, and GaBi
- Commitment to work for a minimum of one year, unless mutually agreed otherwise
Job/Position Description-
Applications are invited for the temporary post of Post Doctoral Researcher, Department of Civil Engineering, IIT Madras.
Co-ordinator: Prof. Ravindra Gettu, Department of Civil Engineering, IIT Madras.
Duration: Initially for one year, later extendable based on the performance.

Post | Pay |
Post Doctoral Researcher | Rs.60,000/- to Rs.1,50,000 /- Per month (consolidated pay without any allowances), commensurate with experience, expertise and leadership skills. |
The postdoctoral researcher will work with the Centre of Excellence on Technologies for Low-Carbon and Lean Construction in the areas of Life Cycle and Sustainability Assessment, with a primary focus on applications related to construction materials, construction processes, and buildings/infrastructure.
The researcher is expected to engage in collaborative research and should have experience in writing research papers and proposals.
This role offers the opportunity to work on a variety of real-world applications of LCA, and provides a strong platform for pursuing a future career in academia or industry.
