About- ICRISAT seeks applications for the post of Associate Scientist ā Data Scientist to be based within the Systems Analysis for Climate Smart Agriculture (SACSA) team and to be based at ICRISAT Headquarters in India. ICRISAT is a non-profit, non-political organization that conducts agricultural research for development in Asia and sub-Saharan Africa with a wide array of partners throughout the world. Eligibility/Qualificationā
ļæ½ Should hold a PhD in Genomics/Biotechnology/Genetics/Computational Biology and/or related discipline of plant genomics with 1-2 years of extensive crop experience within depth genetics and genomics understanding and development & applications of genomics tools during PhD and post-PhD
� The candidate must have experience in the area of genetics, genomics and molecular biology with high quality research outputs including an excellent record of publication in high impact journals.
� A deep understanding of translational genomics in crops of agricultural importance with a basic understanding of genomics and allied sciences
� Specialized analytical skills in analyzing sequencing and genotyping data for trait discovery and trait introgression applications
ļæ½ Collaborate with all ICRISAT research units across all locations and various NARS and international research institutions in providing genomics science support and provide reliable backstopping to multidisciplinary teams of researchers during the research cycle
ļæ½ Contribute to research publications of scientists and research scholars, and documentation of in genomics research
� Track record of peer reviewed publications in agricultural research and allied sciences
� Well connected with Institutions and Organizations in the relevant areas of research
ļæ½ Experience of working in multicultural, multi-disciplinary scientific teams and ability to work across diverse environments and cultures
ļæ½ Excellent written and oral skills in English
� Demonstrated leadership abilities, commitment towards organizational goals and strong interpersonal skills
� Proactive, achievement oriented and independent problem solver, and an excellent team player
Key Skills: Genomic analysis, GWAS, Gene discovery, Haplotype discovery, Genotyping assays, Sequence analysis, Genomic selection
Additional/Preferred Skills: Writing proposals, Research Paper

ICRISAT seeks applications from dynamic professionals for the position ofĀ ?Associate Scientist- Translational Genomics?Ā to support activities in the Cluster-Genomics, Prebreeding & Bioinformatics under the Global Research Program of Accelerated Crop Improvement. The incumbent will be based at the Headquarters of ICRISAT at Patancheru, Hyderabad, Telangana, India.
This is a contractual position for a period of 36 months.
