Eligibility/Qualification–
Essential Qualification:
- Ph.D. or equivalent degree OR
Three years of research, teaching, or design and development experience after M.S./M.Sc./M.E./M.Tech with at least one SCI-indexed research paper in Physics/Electronics/Applied Physics/Optics/Photonics.
Desirable Qualifications:
- Consistent First Class academic record from Secondary Exam onwards.
- Minimum two peer-reviewed journal papers in the relevant field.
- Strong grasp of optical phenomena, ultrafast fiber lasers and amplifiers, nonlinear optics, and photonics applications.
- Proficiency in simulation and modeling tools such as MATLAB, Python, Ansys Lumerical, Zemax, COMSOL Multiphysics, and OptiSystem.
- Excellent communication skills and fluency in English.
- Strong analytical and computational physics background.
Age Limit:
- Not to exceed 35 years as on 31st October 2025.
- Relaxable by 5 years for SC/ST/Women/PwBD and 3 years for OBC (NCL) candidates.

Research Associate (RA)
The selected candidate will:
- Work on the design and development of high-power ultrafast fiber laser systems.
- Perform numerical simulations and experimental investigations related to nonlinear optical processes and laser amplification.
- Contribute to hardware development, system integration, and data analysis.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and publish in reputed journals.
- Assist in guiding SRF/JRF/PA team members and contribute to project documentation.
- May be encouraged to register for a Ph.D. at this Institute as per DIAT norms.
