About- National Institute of Technology Calicut (NITC) is one of India’s premier national institutions for technical education. This was formerly known as Calicut Regional Engineering College. NITC is a technical institution of national importance set up by an Act of Parliament (Act 29 of 2007). NITC offers academic programs leading to B.Tech., B. Arch., M.Tech., M.Plan., M.C.A., M.Sc., M.B.A., and Ph.D. degrees in the appropriate disciplines. - Chemistry:Â Inorganic Chemistry (Organometallic, Coordination Chemistry)
- Architecture & Planning:Â Urban Design, Computational Architecture, Interior Design
- Physics:Â Quantum Computing and Information (excluding Quantum Materials)
- Electronics & Communication Engineering:Â Circuits/Devices for Quantum Computing, Edge AI, Digital Twin, Flexible Electronics
- Mechanical Engineering:Â Supply Chain Analytics & Optimization, Digital Supply Chain, Human Factors & Ergonomics

Eligibility-
- Assistant Professor (Grade I, Pay Level-12):
- Ph.D. with a consistently good academic record
- 3 years post-Ph.D. or 6 years total teaching/research/industry experience
- 20 credit points (as per NIT norms)
- Associate Professor (Pay Level-13A2):
- Ph.D. with a consistently good academic record
- 6 years post-Ph.D. with at least 3 years as Assistant Professor (Pay Level-12)
- Or 9 years total experience with 3 post-Ph.D. years and 3 at Assistant Professor level
- 50 credit points
- Professor (Pay Level-14A):
- Ph.D. with a consistently good academic record
- 10 years post-Ph.D. or 13 years total experience (7 years after Ph.D.)
- At least 3 years as Associate Professor (Level-13A2) or equivalent
- 80 credit points
