About- The University of Kalyani has issued an official employment notification (No. Rect./Teach./03/2026) inviting online applications from Indian citizens for 29 vacant teaching positions. These roles include Professors, Associate Professors, and Assistant Professors across seven different academic departments. Appointments are generally made on a probationary basis for one year.
Research/Job Area-

Eligibility/Qualification–
The university follows the UGC Regulations 2018 and West Bengal Government memorandums for recruitment.
1. Professor
- Academic: Ph.D. in the concerned/allied discipline and published work of high quality.
- Experience: Minimum 10 years of teaching experience in University/College or research experience at an equivalent level.
- Publications: Minimum 10 research publications in peer-reviewed or UGC-listed journals.
- Research Score: Total research score of at least 120.
- Alternative: Outstanding professionals with a Ph.D. and 10 years of experience in industry or academic institutions may also be considered.
2. Associate Professor
- Academic: Ph.D. degree in concerned/allied disciplines and a Master’s Degree with at least 55% marks.
- Experience: Minimum 8 years of experience in teaching and/or research in an academic/research position equivalent to Assistant Professor.
- Publications: Minimum 7 publications in peer-reviewed or UGC-listed journals.
- Research Score: Total research score of at least 75.
3. Assistant Professor
- Academic: Master’s degree with 55% marks in the relevant subject.
- Mandatory Requirement: Must have cleared NET (UGC/CSIR) or similar accredited tests like SLET/SET.
- Exemption: Candidates with a Ph.D. degree (regular mode) awarded prior to July 11, 2009, or those from a foreign university ranked in the Top 500 (QS/THE/ARWU) are exempt from NET/SLET/SET.

- Associate Professor: BP Rs. 1,31,400 – Rs. 2,17,100 (Academic Level 13A)
- Assistant Professor: BP Rs. 57,700 – Rs. 1,82,400 (Academic Level 10)
