About- The National Institute of Technology, Tiruchirappalli has distinguished itself on the national scene this year by being ranked first among all NITs and tenth among all the Technical Institutes in the country by the National Institute Ranking Framework (NIRF) of the Government of India. Established as the Regional Engineering College (REC) in 1964, the salubrious campus became NIT, Tiruchirappalli, in 2004 and is an autonomous institution under MHRD, Government of India. The President of India is the Visitor of the Institute.

Eligibility/Qualification–

All applicants must hold a Ph.D. in a relevant/equivalent discipline and have First Class in preceding degrees (minimum 60% or 6.5 CGPA).

Assistant Professor (Level 10):
- Preferable Age Limit: 35 years (UR category).
- Requirements: Ph.D. with a consistent academic record; GATE/NET/CSIR NET qualification.
Assistant Professor (Level 12):
- Requirements: Ph.D. with 3 years of post-Ph.D. experience OR 6 years of total relevant teaching/research/industrial experience.
Associate Professor (Level 13A2):
- Requirements: Ph.D. with 6 years of post-Ph.D. experience OR 9 years of total experience, with specific credit point requirements.
Professor (Level 14A):
- Requirements: Ph.D. with 10 years of post-Ph.D. experience OR 13 years of total experience, with significant contributions to research and administration.

Job/Position Description-

National Institute of Technology (NIT) Tiruchirappalli invites applications from qualified Indian Nationals and Overseas Citizens of India (OCIs) possessing excellent academic backgrounds and a commitment to quality teaching and research. This recruitment is governed by the Flexible Faculty Structure and the 7th Central Pay Commission (CPC) scales.
