Project Title- Lattice field theory methods in Condensed Matter Physics

Location-  Ariel University, Israel

Eligibility/Qualification–

The particular interest is in

— the Monte – Carlo simulations of Weyl/Dirac semimetals

— application of analytical methods of lattice field theory to the physics of Weyl/Dirac semimetals and topological insulators

The applicant is supposed to be an expert at least in one of the following fields:

  1. Numerical Monte – Carlo simulations in lattice field theory. The emphasis is in the  Hybrid Monte Carlo algorithms. The applicant has to demonstrate the ability both to write the codes and to adapt the existing ones freely distributed by lattice collaborations.
  2. Analytical methods of lattice field theory. The emphasis is on the theoretical study of non – dissipative transport phenomena in the framework of various tight – binding models.

There are no age limitations for this position.

Job/Position Description- The Physics Department of Ariel University, Israel, invites applications for a two year postdoctoral research position. The starting date is in 2019 and is negotiable.

he subject is the application of the lattice field theory methods to condensed matter physics.  The successful candidate will work under the supervision of Prof. M.Lewkowicz
and co – supervision of Dr.Mikhail Zubkov.

How to Apply-  The applicants will have the opportunity to interact with the other theorists of the physics Department of Ariel University including S.Bondarenko (perturbative QCD), I.Ben-Dayan (cosmology), A.Prygarin (mathematical physics), A.Kashi (astrophysics), M.Schiffer (quantum black holes).
