Eligibility/Qualification–

  • You have a PhD degree in physics, materials science, electrical engineering, or similar field with strong hands-on experience in semiconductor thin film device processing and characterization.
  • In-depth experience in perovskite device fabrication and advanced characterization is mandatory.
  • Know-how in various PVD deposition techniques.
  • The experimental nature of the work requires a very high level of experimental skills to operate sophisticated machines, independence to design and execute experiments/characterizations, and analytical mindset for interpreting measured data.
  • You are a team player and your strengths include taking personal responsibility, high motivation for innovation, excellence and flexibility to work and deliver results.
  • You have excellent verbal and written skills in English.
  • Knowledge of German is beneficial but not mandatory.

Job/Position Description- 

Research group is looking for a highly motivated scientist to work on perovskite solar cells for thin-film tandems application with a focus on developing highly efficient and long-term stable semi-transparent perovskite solar cells using fully vacuum-based methods.

Your Tasks:

  • Development and optimization of fully-vapor-processed perovskite solar cells and mini-modules
  • Investigating the loss mechanisms in devices and exploring novel vapor passivation strategies
  • Understanding the device degradation mechanisms and improving long-term operational stability
  • Implementation of optimised perovskite top cell/mini-module into flexible perovskite/CIGS thin-film tandem solar cells and mini-modules
  • Dissemination of your results in project reports, peer-reviewed journals, and at international conferences
