Eligibility/Qualification–

  • The applicant must have obtained a Ph.D. degree in Physics from a recognized Institute/University with expertise in High Energy Particle Physics.
  • In-depth knowledge on various cutting-edge research topics in Neutrino Physics will be preferable.
  • Programming skills in C++/Root/GLoBES and a familiarity with Unix/Linux based operating systems will be added advantages.
  • Those who are about to submit their thesis or have already submitted their thesis, but yet to obtain their Ph.D. degree, can also apply.
  • Apart from his/her own research work, it is expected that the candidate will participate in various academic activities such as assisting young Ph.D. students of the group in their research work, arranging weekly group meetings, giving regular talks/seminars, delivering lectures on pedagogical/advanced research topics.

Job/Position Description-

There are regular openings for Institute postdoctoral positions. Selections are done two times a year, in the beginning of March and September. The positions are initially for one year and are normally extended for the second year. Salary and other facilities are at par with other research Institutes in India. In addition to support for academic travel within the country, Postdoctoral associates are supported for one trip abroad for participating in an international conference/workshop after the first year of joining.

Theoretical High Energy Physics

The research interests of the group include, but are not limited to, collider phenomenology, neutrino physics, QCD, QGP, string theory, black holes, cosmology, astro-particle physics and general relativity.

Theoretical Condensed Matter Physics

The research interests of the group include, but are not limited to, statistical mechanics, soft condensed matter and biophysics, mesoscopic systems, many body theory, nonlinear systems. Further details are available here
