About- The Institute for Stem Cell Science and Regenerative Medicine (inStem), is a state-of-the-art research institute in Bangalore, India, dedicated to the study of stem cells and regenerative biology with translational emphasis. An autonomous institute funded by the Dept. of Biotechnology (DBT), Govt. of India, inStem’s research structure is built on a core of collaborative research with a thematic focus. inStem’s mandate to allow this cross-disciplinary, multi-pronged approach to research, straddles the divide between clinical and laboratory research. In trying to answer intractable and challenging questions that face the field, inStem seeks to rewrite the paradigm of the research institute: without barriers and across disciplines. Eligibility/Qualification–

Project Scientist – I / II

  • Essential Qualification:
    • Ph.D. in Science from a recognized university in:
      • Stem Cell Biology
      • Developmental Biology
      • Cell Biology
      • Molecular Biology or related disciplines
  • Additional Requirement (PS-II):
    • Minimum 3 years of post-PhD R&D experience

Project Associate – I / II

Minimum 2 years of R&D experience in academic, industrial, or S&T organizations

Essential Qualification:

Master’s Degree in Life Sciences / MVSc

OR Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering / Technology / Medicine

BRIC–Institute for Stem Cell Science and Regenerative Medicine (BRIC-inStem), Bengaluru, an autonomous research institute under the Department of Biotechnology, Ministry of Science & Technology, Government of India, invites online applications for multiple contractual research positions under a BRIC-SAHAJ funded project.

The institute seeks motivated, result-oriented professionals with strong expertise in stem cell biology, cell biology, molecular biology, and regenerative medicine, capable of working in a fast-paced, interdisciplinary research environment.

1. Project Scientist – I / Project Scientist – II

  • Number of Posts: 02
  • Age Limit: 45 years
  • Salary:
    • Project Scientist – I: ₹56,000/month + HRA
    • Project Scientist – II: ₹67,000/month + HRA

2. Project Associate – I / Project Associate – II

  • Number of Posts: 01
  • Age Limit: 40 years
  • Salary:
    • PA-I:
      • ₹31,000/month + HRA (NET qualified)
      • ₹25,000/month + HRA (Non-NET)
    • PA-II:
      • ₹35,000/month + HRA (NET qualified)
      • ₹28,000/month + HRA (Non-NET)

Key Responsibilities (All Positions):

  • Conduct stem cell and cell biology research, including:
    • Stem cell culture, differentiation, and quality control
    • Organoid development as per prescribed protocols
  • Preparation of microscopy samples and imaging
  • Perform routine molecular biology techniques:
    • Cloning
    • Nucleic acid isolation
    • RT-PCR
    • Nucleic acid sequencing
  • Plan and execute experiments
  • Order reagents and strictly adhere to laboratory protocols
  • Perform regular data analysis and maintain project documentation
  • Literature survey, data presentation, and project reporting
  • Participate actively in project meetings and intellectual discussions
  • Maintain professional lab records, reports, and presentations
