Eligibility/Qualification–
1. Project Scientist – Wet Lab (01 position)
Remuneration: ₹56,000 per month + 20 percent HRA
Designation: Project Scientist-II
Research Area: Microbiology, Molecular Biology, Genomics
Location: IISER Bhopal
Eligibility
- PhD in Life Sciences with at least 60 percent marks
- Minimum three years of R&D experience in academic, industrial, or scientific organizations
- Age below 40 years on 10 December 2025 (relaxation as per Govt. rules)
Desired Skills
- Hands-on experience in microbial isolation, cloning, PCR/qPCR/dPCR, electrophoresis, nucleic acid extraction, NGS library preparation
- Ability to carry out basic computational analysis
- Strong project management and coordination skills
Job Description
You’ll handle sample collection, maintain data records, run experiments, prepare reports, and coordinate with partner institutions.
2. Project Associate – Wet Lab (01 position)
Remuneration: ₹35,000 per month + 20 percent HRA
Designation: Project Associate-II
Research Area: Molecular Biology, Wastewater Genomics
Location: IISER Bhopal
Eligibility
- Master’s degree in Natural Sciences, Agricultural Sciences, or Medicine with at least 55 percent marks
- Preferably two years of R&D experience
- Age below 35 years on 10 December 2025
- Preference to NET/GATE/GPAT-qualified candidates

- Experience in microbial isolation, molecular biology workflows, PCR/qPCR/dPCR, electrophoresis, NGS library prep
Job Description
You’ll work on sewage sample processing, nucleic acid extraction, RT-qPCR, library preparation, and NGS-based experiments.
3. Project Associate – Bioinformatics (01 position)
Remuneration: ₹35,000 per month + 20 percent HRA
Designation: Project Associate-II
Research Area: Bioinformatics, Genomic Data Analysis
Location: IISER Bhopal
Eligibility
- Master’s degree in Natural or Computational Sciences OR bachelor’s degree in Engineering/Technology/Medicine with at least 55 percent marks
- Minimum two years of R&D experience
- Age below 35 years on 10 December 2025
- Preference to NET/GATE/GPAT-qualified candidates
Desired Skills
- Experience with NGS data analysis: metagenomics, whole-genome analysis, transcriptomics, long/short-read data
- Programming skills in R, Python, Unix; database and web development experience is a plus
- Peer-reviewed publications
- A one-page write-up describing bioinformatics experience must be submitted

4. Laboratory Technicians (02 positions)
Remuneration: ₹20,000 per month + 20 percent HRA

Location: IISER Bhopal and field sites in Bhopal/Indore
Eligibility
- B.Sc. OR 3-year diploma in Engineering/Technology
- Age below 50 years on 7 December 2025
Desired Skills
- At least one year of lab experience in genomics/microbiology/molecular biology
- Familiarity with basic biological techniques and MS Office
Job Description
You’ll collect wastewater, soil, and related samples from multiple locations; assist with lab operations, inventory, vendor coordination, and general laboratory tasks.
Selection Process
