About- National Agri-Food Biotechnology Institute (NABI) is an autonomous Institute under Department of Biotechnology, Government of India. NABI aims at catalyzing the transformation of Agri-food sector in India by being a nodal organization for knowledge generation and translational science leading to value-added products based on Agri-Food biotech innovations for improved household nutritional security. Since its inception in 2010, NABI is involved in research activities for the Bio fortification, development of designer crops for improved nutrition, providing sustainable and novel solutions towards quality food and nutrition, and development of evidence based functional foods to counter malnutrition. Food and nutritional Biotechnology division at NABI requires following research personnel purely on temporary basis. Project Scientist Position in NABI

Research/Job Area- Science or Engineering or Technology

Location- National Agri-Food Biotechnology Institute (NABI), Punjab, India

Project Title- “Improvement in silicon uptake, fruit ripening, and yield by targeting multiple genes (SINIP21, SIAP2a, SP5G and PL) with CRISPR/CAS9 approach in tomato”

Eligibility/Qualification–

Essential Qualifications: – Doctoral Degree (submitted/awarded) in Science or Master’s Degree in Engineering or Technology from a recognized University or equivalent with at least one-year experience, and two international peer-reviewed first author publications.

Desirable:

Proven experience in plant pathology and collection of field specimens of pathogens
Excellent academic record with research experience in area relevant to genomics, molecular biology, and recombinant DNA techniques as evidenced by peer-reviewed publications.
Knowledge and experience of bioinformatics is a plus
Relevant research publications in reputed international peer-reviewed journals.

Age limit: – 35 Years (Relaxation is admissible in case of SC/ST/OBC/PD as per GOI Instructions)

Job/Position Description-

Emoluments: – Rs. 56000/- per month plus HRA (As per DST OM No.SR/S9/Z08/2018 dated 30.01.2019)

Project: DBT Partnership Centre on Genetic Manipulation of Brassicas – Phase II (GAP-65)

Principle Investigator: Dr. Sivasubramanian R, Scientist D

Position: Project Scientist-I

Duration: Till December 2028

Funding Agency: Department of Biotechnology

Project Summary: The project aims to understand the genomic diversity of host (Brassica juncea) and pathogen (Alternaria brassicae) to maximise yield and oil quality in Indian mustard.
