About- Central Institute of Petrochemicals Engineering & Technology (CIPET) (formerly known as Central Institute of Plastics Engineering & Technology (CIPET)) was established in 1968 by the Government of India with the assistance of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) at Chennai. The goal for creating this institute was to educate people in various fields of Plastics Engineering and Technology since there were no other institutes of its kind in the country. International Labour Organization (ILO) served as the executing agency. Between 1968 and 1973, the institute successfully achieved its goals and was considered one of the most successful UNDP projects worldwide. Today CIPET is a premier Academic institution for higher & technical CIPET is an important educational institution in India that focuses on higher and technical education in the field of plastics. It covers various areas such as design, CAD/CAM/CAE, tooling and mould manufacturing, production engineering, testing, and quality assurance to the Polymer and allied industries’ needs. | Junior Research Fellow(JRF) : 01 post | Full time M.Sc., (Physics / Materials Science/ /Nanotechnology/ Chemistry or equivalent qualification with first class in PG degree as well as qualified NET/GATE. or P.G Degree in Professional Courses: M.E/M.Tech., (Materials Science/ Nanotechnology/Applied Science) Preferable: Previous experience in the Li-ion battery, electrode, electrolyte for battery application & Hands on experience in the material synthesis, characterization. GATE/NET Qualified candidate shall be offered the post of Junior Research Fellow (JRF) whereas nonGATE/NET may be offered as Project Associate-I as per DST Norms. |
| Research Associate-I : 01 post | Full time PhD in Engineering & Science in the field of Materials Science, Physics, Chemistry, etc with experience in Li-ion battery cell fabrication and testing. |
Desirable Experience: Candidates with strong knowledge on nanomaterial’s synthesis and characterization, Electrochemistry and experience in the fabrication and study of Li-ion battery will be preferred.
Job/Position Description-
CIPET: SARP-LARPM invites applications from young and dynamic researchers to work under DST- AMT sponsored project entitled “Scalable Micro Porous Polymer Film as a Separator for Secondary Lithium Battery Applications” [DST/TDT/AM/2022/169(G)].
Duration of Project: The contract is purely temporary and initially only for a period of one year but extendable if work is found satisfactory on year to year basis till the completion of the project (max. 02 years).
