About- The Indian Association for the Cultivation of Science (IACS) is a society registered under Act XXI of 1860 and the corresponding State Act viz. the West Bengal State Registration Act 1961, with its headquarters at 2A & 2B, Raja S. C. Mallick Road, Calcutta – 700 032, West Bengal, India. It has a Governing Council with several members elected or nominated and the Registrar as its Non-Member Secretary. The Council has the functions, duties and power as envisaged in the Memorandum and Bye-Laws and per the relevant Act’s provisions.

Eligibility/Qualification–
Essential Qualifications: A candidate should have Ph.D. degree in chemistry/chemical sciences, with research experience supported by good publications in peer-reviewed journals. Preference will be given to the candidates having substantial research exposure in multistep chemical synthesis of complex natural products.
Research Area: Chemical synthesis of natural products.
Age limit: 35 Y. Relaxation is applicable as per Govt. rule.
Job/Position Description-
Recruitment of one Research Associate (RA-I) in the School of Chemical Sciences under Prof. Rajib Kr Goswami in the project entitled of “Total synthesis of Bioactive Natural Products and Their Relevant Variants”
Walk-In Interview will be held at the School of Chemical Sciences on 13th April, 2026 at 3 p.m. onwards for the recruitment of one Research Associate-I.
Research Area: Chemical synthesis of natural products.
Number of Post: One (1)
Emoluments: As per IACS rules.
Tenure of Fellowship: This position is purely temporary which will be initially for 6 months and may be extendible up to 1 year (one year) subject to the recommendation of the evaluation committee based on his/her performance after 6 months. The candidate will have no right to claim (explicit or implicit) any post in the institute.
