About- The Indian Association for the Cultivation of Science (IACS) is a society registered under Act XXI of 1860 and the corresponding State Act viz. the West Bengal State Registration Act 1961, with its headquarters at 2A & 2B, Raja S. C. Mallick Road, Calcutta – 700 032, West Bengal, India. It has a Governing Council with several members elected or nominated and the Registrar as its Non-Member Secretary. The Council has the functions, duties and power as envisaged in the Memorandum and Bye-Laws and per the relevant Act’s provisions.

Eligibility/Qualification–
Essential Qualifications: Candidates should have a PhD degree in Chemistry with research experience in synthetic inorganic chemistry with special focus on biomimetic and mechanistic inorganic chemistry. Knowledge in bioinspired catalysis, electrochemistry and spectroscopy is desirable. Candidates who have submitted PhD thesis/presented open thesis colloquium are also eligible to apply but their final selection and emoluments will be guided by the rules of IACS.

Job/Position Description-
Research Associate-I Position in the School of Chemical Sciences, IACS
The applications will be shortlisted based on academic credential, research area and experience. Shortlisted candidates will be requested to appear for an interview in the last week of July 2025. The exact date, time and mode of interview will be communicated to the shortlisted candidates only.
Duration: One year from the date of joining as RA-I/Bridge fellow. However, an extension for another year may be granted based on satisfactory performance.
Emoluments: As per the rules of the institute.
The position is purely temporary, and the candidate will not have any right to claim (explicit or implicit) any permanent post in the Institute. No TA will be admissible for attending the interview.
