National Institute of Plant Genome Research, New Delhi, India, invites applications for Scientist Positions at NIPGR from eligible and interested candidates.
About- National Institute of Plant Genome Research, New Delhi, is an Autonomous Research Institution funded by the Department of Biotechnology, Ministry of Science & Technology, Govt. of India, to pursue research on various aspects of plant genomics. The Institute is also establishing the NIPGR Translational Centre at Bulandshahr, UP and Biotech Science Cluster, NCR, Faridabad, Haryana. NIPGR invites applications from Indian Citizens to fill the vacant posts on Direct Recruitment basis, as detailed below. The position of Consultant Engineer is on a contract basis.

Job/Position Description-
Applications are invited from suitable candidates for filling up purely temporary positions in the “DBTProcessing and Monitoring Unit (PMU) for Emerging Frontiers in Biotechnology Programs of the DBT”, at NIPGR.
The roles and responsibilities of the selected personals will be as follows:
- The Project Scientist I & II, will play crucial role in supporting the Emerging Frontiers in Biotechnology (EFB) Directorate of DBT in the coordination of Internal Screening Committee meeting, Technical Expert Committee meeting, progress reviews meeting, fund release processes, etc.
- The Senior Project Associate will be assisting the EFB Directorate in coordination with Principal Investigators of the proposals to gather and analyze financial and other relevant documents, facilitating the proposal for evaluation and grant releases.
- The responsibilities of the Project Associate II include assistance in preparing notes, tables, and other documentation for the grant release proposal.
- The Project Assistant will be assigned to the PMU to handle multitasking assignments.
- The above job responsibilities are illustrative and whenever required, the Competent Authority may also assign additional work.
The above positions are completely on temporary basis and co-terminus with the project. The emoluments for the above positions are as sanctioned in the project and as per DST OM No. SR/S9/Z-05/2019 dated July 10, 2020. The initial appointment will be for one year or till the tenability of the project whichever is earlier and the same can be curtailed/extended on the basis of assessment of the candidate’s performance and discretion of the Competent Authority. NIPGR reserves the right to select the candidate against the above post depending upon the qualifications and experience of the candidate. The reservation of posts shall be as per Govt. of India norms. The appointment may be terminated any time by giving one month notice by either side. The applicants will have no claim implicit or explicit for consideration against any regular position of NIPGR.

The last date of submission of on-line application is September 07, 2024 (5.30 p.m.).
The shortlisted candidates only will be informed about date and time of the interview through e-mail. The candidates must ascertain their eligibility before submitting application, as ineligible candidates will not be interviewed. Canvassing in any form or bringing influence, political or otherwise, will lead to disqualification of the candidate(s).
