About- NIPER Ahmedabad invites applications from eligible Indian nationals for the position of Project Research Scientist-I (Non-Medical) in an ICMR-funded research project. The position is purely contractual and co-terminus with the project. The focus is on research and development of novel squaramide-based IL-8R inhibitors and bio-instructive peptido-hydrogels for the simultaneous management of metastatic oral squamous cell carcinomas and oral mucositis.

Eligibility/Qualification–

Essential:

First-class postgraduate degree including integrated PG degree
OR
Second-class postgraduate degree (including integrated) with Ph.D.

Desirable:

Chemical Science: Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry, Medicinal/Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Process Chemistry, or related fields with industrial experience in chemical synthesis. Experience in multistep organic synthesis, purification/characterization (chromatography, spectroscopy), and peptide chemistry preferred.
Biological Science: First class in post graduate degree with Ph.D. in Lifesciences/Biotechnology/Biological Sciences or relevant industry experience. At least 2 first-author publications in reputed journals. Experience in molecular biology techniques, data analysis, and cancer biology is desirable.

Age Limit:
Not more than 35 years as on 31-08-2025 (relaxable as per Government of India norms).
