IISc Post-Doctoral Fellowship: The Indian Institute of Science (IISc) is inviting applications for the Post-Doctoral Fellowship (IPDF) aimed at motivated individuals with a proven record of high-quality research. Eligibility/Qualification

  • Ph.D. with First Class or equivalent in the preceding degree and a good academic record throughout.
  • Candidates who have submitted their Ph.D. thesis may also apply (proof of thesis submission is required).
  • Preferably less than 32 years of age at the time of application.
  • Overseas Citizens of India (OCI) and foreign nationals are eligible to apply.

Job Description

Selected candidates will engage in research work in their chosen Department or Centre at IISc. The duration of the fellowship is one year, with a potential extension for an additional year, subject to evaluation.

Emoluments

  • Monthly consolidated fellowship: INR 80,000 plus applicable HRA.
  • Annual research grant: INR 2 Lakhs.
  • Candidates who have not completed their thesis but are selected will receive a monthly fellowship of INR 50,000 plus applicable HRA (without the research grant) until their degree is awarded.

  1. Contact a faculty member in your preferred department to obtain consent to host your fellowship.
  2. Prepare the following documents:
  • Curriculum Vitae with a list of all publications.
  • PDF files of at least 2 and up to 5 important publications.
  • Proposed research plan (up to 500 words).
  • Consent letter or email from the faculty member.
  • PDF file of your PhD degree certificate, provisional certificate, or thesis submission certificate.
  • Any other relevant information.

Note:

Candidates may apply throughout the year; however, applications will be reviewed quarterly on specific dates.
