Eligibility/Qualification–
- PhD or Master’s degree in Engineering or Technology with 3 years’ experience in R&D.
- PhD qualified candidates can be considered for Project Scientist 1 level (56,000/- +24%HRA).
- PhD or Master’s degree in Engineering or Technology Preference will be given to applicants with experience in R&D diagnostic laboratories in the clinical or industry setting or past experience in the management of a biorepository for biological resources.
- Previous experience with viral cultures and propagation is desirable.

Post: Project Manager (Project Scientist-II) – One
Post Name: Project Manager/ Project Scientist-II: One Position
Remuneration: As per grant/GoI norms
The Project Manager will supervise the daily operations in the Covid-19 testing laboratory and biorepository, and oversee training of personnel and laboratory management. Responsibilities will include (but are not limited to):
- Management and training of staff working the testing laboratory and samples (swabs and peripheral blood) for the biorepository
- Supervision and coordination of receipt, processing, reporting and storage of clinical samples. Includes receipt (storage of late night/evening arrivals) of samples from various hospitals and districts.
- Oversight and management of supplies and inventory of the testing laboratory
- Updating SOPs to increase the operational efficiencies of both the COVID testing laboratory and biorepository
- Providing regular updates and reports to different agencies about the status of the COVID testing lab and biorepository
- Establishing viral lines from clinical samples that contain variants of concern/interest
- Ensure that the testing laboratory and biorepository is in compliance with all regulatory guidelines and policies.
- Participate in meetings with external stakeholders about accessing the infrastructure, capabilities, and archived material in the testing lab and biorepository
- Work with the faculty in-charge to evaluate laboratory policies, requests, and facility requirements.
- Coordinate meetings of the Access Control Committee.
The selected candidate is expected to lead by example and spend part of the day working in different modules of the testing laboratory and linked biorepository based on requirements. The Covid-19 laboratory has a 6-day week.
The initial appointment is for one year, renewable based on requirement. During the tenure of the appointment, the same may be terminated with notice period of one month for both sides.
