The Delft Center for Systems and Control (DCSC) coordinates the education and research activities in systems and control at Delft University of Technology. The Centers’ research mission is to conduct fundamental research in systems dynamics and control, involving dynamic modelling, advanced control theory, optimisation and signal analysis. The research is motivated by advanced technology development in physical imaging systems, robotics and transportation systems

Eligibility/Qualification– The applicant has earned (or is about to earn) a very good doctoral degree and has research experience in the field of fiber-optic communications. A good command of the English language is expected.
Job/Position Description-
This position is part of the ERC Starting Grant NEUTRINO of Dr. Sander Wahls. Starting Grants are highly competitive and granted solely based on scientific excellence. The overarching goal of NEUTRINO is to push nonlinear Fourier transforms from being a mainly theoretical tool into engineering practice.
Research group is looking for a postdoctoral researcher who has a strong background in fiber-optic communications. The successful candidate will investigate novel fiber-optic transceiver concepts based on nonlinear Fourier transforms, which provide a unique new way to deal with nonlinearity. No prior experience with nonlinear Fourier transforms is expected. The research will be carried out in close collaboration with a team of currently five other researchers working on numerical algorithms and other related topics related to nonlinear Fourier transforms.
Level: Doctorate
Working hours: 38-40 hours weekly
Contract: two years
Salary: 3255 – 4274 euros monthly (full-time basis)
The Postdoc Position in Dutch Institute will ideally start on March 1st, 2019, and run for two years. Other starting dates can be accommodated. Upon good performance, the positions will be extended if possible.
