The appointment is until January 28, 2025, with a possibility of extension based on project continuation and performance.

Eligibility/Qualification–
Candidates must have:
- Ph.D. in Engineering from Aerospace Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Instrumentation Engineering from a recognized Institute/University.
- GATE qualification in one of the relevant disciplines listed above.
- Candidates may also apply with a provisional Ph.D. certificate.
- At least two published journal papers in SCI/Scopus-indexed journals.
- Indian citizenship is mandatory.
Job/Position Description-
The Department of Electronics & Communication Engineering, National Institute of Technology (NIT) Durgapur, invites applications from eligible Indian citizens for one Research Associate (RA-III) and one Junior Research Fellow (JRF) position under a Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology (MeitY)-funded project on Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS), drones, and related technologies.
The selected candidates will contribute to fundamental research, simulation, system development, and technology development related to UAV/drone systems. Both positions are temporary and are available until 31 March 2028 or completion of the project, whichever is earlier.

Designation: Research Associate (RA-III)
The selected Research Associate will play a major role in:
- Fundamental research related to UAV/drone technologies.
- Simulation and modeling activities.
- System development and implementation.
- Research involving aerodynamics, flight mechanics, control, robotics, embedded systems, sensors and related areas.
- Contributing to the successful execution of the MeitY-funded project.
Emolument: ₹67,000 per month (consolidated) + HRA as per institute rules.
