About- Banaras Hindu University is an internationally reputed temple of learning, situated in the holy city of Varanasi. Eligibility/Qualification–

Essential Qualification and Experience:

First-class postgraduate (PG) degree in Life Sciences or a related field, including

Biochemistry/Biotechnology/Neurobiology along with the relevant research experience.

Desirable Qualifications:

Ph.D. in the relevant field (Life Sciences/Biochemistry/Neuroscience/Epigenetics).
At least 2 years of research experience.
Hands-on experience in epigenetic work such as Chromatin Immunoprecipitation (ChIP), DNA methylation techniques, and related molecular biology methods.

Upper Age Limit: 35 years (Relaxable for 5 years for SC/ST/Physically Handicapped/Female candidates as per GOI rules).

Job/Position Description-

Project Research Scientist-I (Non-Medical) post under ICMR funded project

Applications are invited for one post of Project Research Scientist (Non-Medical) to work in an ICMR sponsored research project entitled “Regulation of DNA methylation in Parkinson’s Disease through Mucuna pruriens”. The post is temporary and co-terminus with the project, which is sanctioned for up to three years.

The selected candidate will be appointed for one year, which may be extended based on performance.

Salary: ₹56,000/- + 20% HRA per month as per ICMR rules.
