About- The Central University of Karnataka (CUK) was established by an Act of Parliament (No. 3 of 2009) at Kalaburagi, Karnataka. It is one of the 16 new Central Universities the Government of India established. The University has 654 acres of campus near Kadaganchi village in the district of Kalaburagi, Karnataka State. It is claimed that CUK is the first Central University to move to its permanent campus in a short time among the new ones. The university’s main objective is to integrate the components of Teaching, Research, Innovation, Training, and Skill Development (TRI-TSD) with an aspiration to excel in dual degree, post-graduate and doctoral programs. The University offers programs in the following five dominant areas: Arts, Humanities, Management, Sciences, and Engineering. Currently, the University is running 16 Departments spread in 8 Schools and 1 Centre offering 9 Dual degree programs, 15 Master’s degree programs, and 16 Research (Ph.D.) programs. Eligibility/Qualification–
- A Master’s degree with 55% marks (or an equivalent grade) in a concerned/relevant/allied subject from an Indian University, or an equivalent degree from an accredited foreign university.
- Candidates must have cleared the National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by the UGC or the CSIR, or a similar test accredited by the UGC. Exemption from NET is applicable for Ph.D. degree holders awarded in accordance with the University Grants Commission (Minimum Standards and Procedure for Award of M.Phil./Ph.D. Degree) Regulations, 2009 or 2016, and their amendments 1. Specific conditions for Ph.D. degrees awarded prior to July 11, 2009, apply for NET exemption.
- A relaxation of 5% (i.e., from 60% to 55% for Management and Engineering disciplines and 55% to 50% for rest of the disciplines) shall be provided at the Graduate and Master’s level for SC/ST/PWD/OBC (Non-creamy layer) categories for eligibility and good academic record.
- Retired teachers below 65 years of age may also apply.
Job/Position Description-
 Central University of Karnataka, Kalaburagi, invites applications for engagement as teaching faculty on a purely contractual basis for one semester or until further orders.
The engagement is purely temporary for a period of one semester only. Remuneration is Rs. 40,000/- per month for candidates possessing UGC/CSIR-NET and Rs. 45,000/- per month for candidates possessing UGC/CSIR-NET along with a Ph.D. in the relevant subject 1. No other emoluments, allowances, or medical reimbursements are applicable. Selected candidates will have a workload as per UGC norms and must work full-time from the campus during the tenure of engagement. They should also have their own online teaching arrangements, such as a laptop.
