You will possess outstanding organisational and record keeping skills, high-quality written and oral communication skills and the ability to work with independence and as part of a team. We are looking for a candidate who is capable of generating high-quality, reproducible data for publications and presentations.

You must be able to set up equipment, contribute to design and conduct and troubleshoot experiments with a level of independence.

A doctoral qualification in the relevant discipline or a closely related field is required.

Additionally, the successful candidate will also have a methodological approach to problem-solving, the capacity for forward planning and the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary research team. 

Expertise in the manipulation of gene expression by shRNA/CRISPR, cell and tissue imaging, mouse models of cancer and proteomics is desirable.

Job/Position Description- The Postdoctoral Research Fellow will be responsible for undertaking a research project aimed at characterising mechanisms of intercellular communication within the prostate cancer tumour microenvironment that promote development and progression of prostate cancer and that represent a source of novel biomarkers of early disease and prognosis, as well as therapeutic targets.

This research project is multifaceted and integrates identification of factors and pathways involved in intercellular signalling, functional characterisation of these using cell-based and mouse models, and interrogation of patient tissue cohorts.

Employment Type: Full-time

Duration: 3 year fixed-term appointment

Remuneration: $68,040 – $92,343 pa Level A (plus 17% employer superannuation)
